Description
The 53' Durbeck is an Auxiliary
Pilot House cruising Ketch. This boat was cruising consistently just over a year
ago. Now due to illness the vessel must sell. The boat was lovingly used and cared
for by one owner sense complete. She'll now need a bit of TLC and updating. She
has a huge full keel and stable design. She has been rigged for short handed sailing.
These Durbecks are popular and this one would usually have an ask price over 200k.
She
has a large protected pilot house steering station with helm seat and control
lines and instruments to hand. The boat was built with extensive long range cruising
in mind and can handle all seas. She is the 3rd and last 53 Durbeck hull completed.
Starting
aft in the cabin there are two large quarter berths
with ample storage and access to the rudder post.
Between is a U-Shape seating area for entertaining.
Forward and to stbd is the nav station and seating
area and forward of the nav is a full enclosed head.
To port is a very large galley with ss double sink,
ss Luke Heritage 3 Burner stove and oven. Two 20lb
Propane tanks are mount outside with a remote solenoid
switch in the galley. There is also a large freezer
with two holding plates and spill over to a large
fridge. The finish work in the galley and salon area
is 1.5'' mahogany strips, the headliner is Western
Red Cedar, and the sole is .75' teak with Delrin strips.
All doors throughout are solid mahogany.
Forward to stbd is a companionway with the main breaker
panel and engine room access. Forward to port is the
owner's master stateroom, complete with sink and vanity.
Across is an open settee/den area. Forward again is
the guest bunk stateroom. Stbd is the Head with separate
shower. Ahead is the forward companion way to the
deck and forward is another large stateroom with bunks,
a desk, and storage. Then forward again is the sail
locker and access to the chain locker.
