General Description
The vessel is a Navy 85' Patrol/Rescue boat, designed by Dair N. Long & Associates, Naval Architects, Los Angeles, CA. Built by Robinson in 1944 for the U.S. Navy, designed for offshore waterborne rescue operations. The outer hull is carvel planked Honduras mahogany over white oak frames with an inner hull of diagonal planked Port Orford cedar. She has a transom stern, raked bow, flush decking, and raised trunk cabin with fly bridge. She has complete berthing and dining facilities for 40 adults including galley and showers and marine toilets.

Actual Condition
Vessel ran into a storm off Cape Mendocino and bilges took on water. The boat put into port and is now stored on land. It is thought that the cause of water intrusion might be from rework of prior softness or allision damage that was not adequately pegged to her skin makeup.

Additional repairs needed are:
Port: remove broken damaged chine guard areas and renew under planking. Repair chine fins sections in damage on port amidships area. Replace plank below the generator exhaust located just aft of port engine. Renew 3 broken planks plus 7 butt ends that opened up on her bottom. Renew soft chine timber that is soft in area approximately 10' from bow stem.
Starboard: 10 planks have butt ends which have pulled apart and need repair. 5 broken planks need to be replaced.

Please inspect carefully for further damage.
